[upbeat music] Starting off the show with some story of the year. Disconnected. What is happening? It is pre-Friday, AKA Thursday, July ninth, twenty twenty-six. Last night I went and saw the, the, the Donkey Butt movie, Johnny Knoxville and friends. You know what I'm talking about? Can't say the actual title of it on the air, which is kinda silly. But anyway. Saw the-- saw Donkey Butt: Best and Last, and I thought it was gonna be a movie full of new, original stunts. No, they just highlighted-- for the most part, highlighted some of the best stunts from previous movies. There goes the music bed again. [upbeat music] So if you've already seen Donkey Butt one through three and a half, whatever the last one is,
you've already seen most of this new movie. And I was talking to my friends Bryson and Charlotte about that, and they're like, "Well, the, the cast is now like fifty-something years old." I'm like, "Then why make another movie?"
I guess money talks.
You know, Johnny Knoxville, he's already the host of Fear Factor. I feel like he's making enough there, but maybe he just wants to support his friends, get them another paycheck for one last time, you know. If you wanna get ahold of me, you can over at two oh eight, five three five, one oh one five.
Are we giving away anything? I don't think so.
Maybe soon we will be. Make sure to download the K-Bear one oh one app. It is updated. If you haven't updated it yet, yet, make sure to do so.
There's a new player, a new look to the, uh, the player. Supposedly it has better Apple CarPlay and Android audio too, connectivity there, so I'll have to test that out in my, uh, in my car later tonight. It's Peaches Pit Party right here on K-Bear one oh one. K-Bear one oh one. I just saw this question pop up. Is wearing headphones in public rude?
Headphones have become part of everyday life. Whether you're at the gym, walking through the airport, riding in an Uber, or sitting in a coffee shop, chances are you'll see people with earbuds in. For many, they're simply a way to listen to music, podcasts, maybe even stream K-Bear through the headphones, through the app, or just simply block out distractions. Some people say wearing headphones is completely normal. That's how I view it. Shouldn't be viewed as antisocial. In fact, many see them as an easy way to create a little personal space in a busy world. I, I mean, if I go into WinCo... I've, I've had this habit of stopping by WinCo in the morning to grab one of these Alive mushroom elixir drinks, my black tea with apple cider vinegar. Some, like, reishi mushroom in there too. Turkey tail as well. I'll go to WinCo in the morning, and it's still crowded. And so to kind of just get through there fast, I'll listen to music while running to the kombucha section, grab myself a bottle of the mushroom elixir, get out of there. I think the lady at self-checkout is annoyed by me
because I'll have my headphones in, and I'll be listening to music, and I can't hear her say, "Hope you have a great day." And I, I think, uh, not only that, but I also think she gets upset with me because I, I don't grab the receipt 'cause I don't need it. There are no trash cans by the, uh, self-checkout machines for me to just grab the receipt and then throw it away. 'Cause why would I need a receipt? I'm not gonna return the kombucha. I'm not gonna return this mushroom elixir.
One time-- I should have, because half of it was, like, missing or something. I don't know what happened with this one time. I grabbed one of the bottles, and it was like... Uh, it was leaking out the bottle. That's what it was. Maybe I should've kept the receipt for that occasion. Been like, "Hey." Uh, what if I tried returning that to WinCo? Would they, would they, would they have just laughed? I don't know. Here's A Perfect Circle, "Starless" on K-Bear one oh one. Peaches Pit Party on K-Bear one oh one. I was reading something here about how food is turning into a surprisingly big source of stress for some couples. Uh, between food allergies, dietary restrictions, wellness trends, calorie counting, even GLP-1 weight loss medications. Sharing a meal isn't always as simple as it used to be. Instead of bonding over dinner, some partners find themselves eating completely different foods or trying to work around collecting, uh... conflicting, excuse me. Around conflicting eating habits. You know how tough it is to choose a movie between a group of people instead? Forget the whole food thing. I hate the fact that this music, these music beds just randomly stop. [upbeat music] Anyway, you ever try to choose a movie between o- people from different backgrounds with different tastes?
We were watching the trailers before the Donkey Butt movie last night, and my friend Bryce and his fiancée Charlotte kept going like, "I'm not gonna see that one. I'm not gonna see that one." Me and Bryce were like, "That one looks good. Sure, let's go see that." The, the trailer for the Insidious movie came on.
And of course, I definitely wanna go see that. But I, I know horror movies are not everybody's thing.
But the fact there are people that go like, "I, I'm not gonna watch that. The first time I watched a movie like that, it traumatized me."
What are you talking about? It's a movie. They're all actors.
It's not like The Human Centipede or... I'm not gonna name those other grotesque films that intentionally try to ruin you. [laughs] I mean,
it's not like... Well, I can't say that, that video either, but...
A-anyway, like, there's no way Insidious one traumatized you. Like, i-it-- just because you saw it at a young age, you know, your parents stupidly took you to the movie theater at eleven years old or whatever to see-- to show you this movie.
It is kinda weird that there are parents out there taking their, like, eight-year-olds to these horror movies.
'Cause if I saw a horror movie at age eight,
even if I watch a horror movie now, I'm still turning the lights off and sprinting to where the light is. You know, maybe I'm just becau- Maybe it's just because I'm a sissy, but anyway. I know horror movies are fake, but at least for a few days after I watch that horror movie,
I pretend like that monster or ghost or whatever's in that horror movie is chasing me
And I start getting freaked out, start turning around like I'm a schizophrenic, you know, start looking around all frantically. I think we officially reached peak America. Apparently, international visitors coming here for the World Cup have been so fascinated by Walmart that Walmart is now offering VIP store tours. I'm serious. Tourists will get a guided walk through the store,
a Walmart passport, souvenir stamps, product samples, and a chance to experience all the snacks, the cereal bags, everything else that makes foreigners go, whoa. I love that people from around the world come to America thinking Statue of Liberty, Hollywood, the Grand Canyon. Then they walk into Walmart and go, what is this? A super center?
Have you ever watched those TikToks of Europeans seeing a gallon of ranch dressing for the first time?
I mean, I'm still taken aback by people buying that kind of thing. Do you ever go to Costco and you see like that five pound jar of mayonnaise? You're like, who's using this much mayo? It's not like Jerry Seinfeld. Who's using this much mayo?
Here's Scatterbrain Fastlane on KVER 101. New Arizona Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur might have some new fans
long before his first game. LaFleur got an email from a bride whose wedding is scheduled for October 4th in Jersey City, the same day of the Cardinals and New York Giants game in nearby East Rutherford, New Jersey. The bride asked that LaFleur and the team give up their reservation at a nearby presidential suite so she could use it to get ready with her bridesmaids. She wrote, in other words, coach, you have unknowingly become the final obstacle standing between me and my dream wedding suite. Cardinals owner Michael Bidwell heard about the email from LaFleur and posted a video where he said he'd gladly give the suite to the bride and her crew. How awesome is that, huh? Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton has so much respect for Bill Belichick that he hatched a plan to get the former New England Patriots coach enough wins to break Don Shula's all-time record. It was recently revealed that back in 2024, Payton considered pitching a plan to Broncos owner Greg Penner. They hired Belichick as head coach until he reached 15 wins, enough to break Shula's record of 347. Payton would have temporarily stepped down to assistant head coach and run the offense, then moved back after Belichick became the all-time leader. In the end, Payton thought it would be too complicated to pull off. In baseball, to wrap things up here, Chicago Cubs pitcher Justin Steele. What a name is that? What kind of name is that? Justin Steele.
He has been on the injured list all season long due to a flexor strain sustained during his rehab from elbow surgery. But that doesn't mean Cubs fans have forgotten about the former all-star Steele. Shared a letter he received from Tommy Lynch. What? That's a cool name. Tommy Lynch, a young Cubs fan from Orland Park, Illinois. Lynch wrote, I can't wait until the second half of the season when you are expected to return. Don't push it too much to get back really soon or you might get injured again. I love watching you pitch and you're amazing. I don't know if you believe in God, but I do and I'm praying for you. Steele captioned the photo of the letter, be right back, crying Cubs fans are the absolute best. That does it for your Shot Clock Sports Update right here on KVER 101. Peach's Pit Party on KVER 101. I don't know if I've ever heard a story quite like this.
Obviously, I can't make jokes about it because it's rather crazy, rather daunting. This flight instructor in Argentina
was giving a lesson to a 22-year-old student pilot. Without warning, he reportedly told her, you know what you have to do?
Carry on.
Then he removed his headset, unbuckled his seatbelt, opened the door and jumped out of the airplane.
The student who was suddenly alone in the cockpit somehow stayed calm enough to safely land the plane by herself. Authorities are investigating the incident. The instructor's family has since said he had been struggling with mental health.
Can we talk about the student? This had to be one of the most terrifying moments imaginable.
Somehow she still landed the plane. Now, could you imagine you're learning how to drive as a 16-year-old, however old you are.
The instructor in the passenger seat goes, all right, you know what to do. Opens the door and just jumps out the car.
This sounds like a Willy Wonka kind of tactic.
You know what to do. Grabs a parachute, jumps out. I mean, obviously this guy jumped out and was dealing with some significant mental health struggles, which, by the way, if you are, dial 988. All right, please. 988. Those three numbers are easy to remember if you're dealing with anything. 988. Because that part's not funny. I'm just imagining some driving instructor, you know, he just rolls in the concrete for a little bit, gets right back up. The student in the car trying to drive by themselves, screaming at the same time. Back when I was learning how to drive, they had me get in the Prius, which
sounds like a crime. You know, all six foot nine of me going into a Prius out of all cars.
And at the time, I didn't realize cars just drive. If you put them in drive, they just go until you hit the brakes. I didn't know that. I thought you just went on the pedal, the acceleration. Forget it. Forget it. I don't want to make myself sound like too much of an idiot. People already know I'm an idiot, but I don't want to reach that level of extreme, you know? Anyway, rest in peace to that pilot. Glad the student could land the plane completely on her own. I have some fantastic news for everybody who hates leg day. I've never met a single person that absolutely enjoys it. You know, scientists say
Simply smelling chocolate before a workout might actually help you exercise longer. Just sniffing it, not eating it.
Researchers found that people who smelled dark chocolate specifically
before lifting weights were able to do more reps without feeling like the workout was any harder. How do you find this out? Who was that one weirdo that was like, "Okay, I'm staying away from chocolate, but if I sniff it, it might give me that mental whatever that I just ate a chocolate bar."
For years we've all been told, "Don't eat chocolate before the gym." All right. Turns out the answer was just stand there and smell it. Now, can you imagine walking into Planet Fitness? There's one guy bench pressing, another guy squatting.
One dude just holding a Hershey bar under his nose just [sniffs] smelling it beyond belief. Just taking... It's almost like a line, you know, right in front of him. He goes from one side to the other. It's like smelling salts.
Just put- like, gently puts it below his nose. Oh, that's the stuff. All of a sudden he starts looking like the, uh, the shark Bruce from Finding Nemo, where his eyes turn all, w- was it black in the movie? And he goes into that, like, that mode. Now it's time to PR. I, pff, I don't know. Here's Motionless in White, Afraid of the Dark, on K-barrel 101. Can EA just not be EA for five minutes? EA Sports College Football 2027 officially launches today.
But people who paid extra for early access have already figured something out. The game now slows down how quickly your coach or players level up.
And wouldn't you know it, there's a way to speed it up by buying college football points with real money. Now, here's the thing.
One player even estimated it would take about 150 straight championship seasons to fully max out your coach without spending extra cash. 150 seasons.
At that point, you're not coaching football, you're rewriting American history. 150 years.
This is why gamers get so frustrated with EA. It feels like every year they ask, "How can we make this more fun?" And somebody in the meeting says, "What if we had them use their credit card more? You know, what if we made it slower unless they pay us?"
I miss when you unlocked things by actually, you know, playing the game.
Now it's, "Congratulations, you've completed an incredible season. Would you like to spend another 10 bucks to feel accomplished faster?" I remember grabbing my, my debit card to be able to get BC on NBA 2K, trying to get my My Players overall to a, as close to a 99 as I could, just to get absolutely cooked
by some dude in the, in the virtual park
who also spent tons of money on their My Player. It's Peaches Pit Party on K-barrel 101. I've decided there are two types of people in this world. People who collect normal things, and then those people who spend thousands of dollars on, uh, things like a clip-on bow tie. The original KFC headquarters and a whole collection of Colonel Sanders memorabilia are going up for auction in Kentucky. And yes, one of the items is Colonel Sanders' actual clip-on black bow tie.
Can you imagine winning that auction?
W- what are you gonna do with that? Are you gonna wear it? I don't think so.
You don't want the pressure cooker, you don't want the recipe book.
Maybe one of those giant spinning bucket signs. No, you got the actual bow tie.
Are you gonna hang that up and put it, like, on the mantle? I don't know, above the mantle. Uh, pff. Who knows what you're gonna do with that kind of thing. What if you had that kind of money, to where you show up to an auction at the KFC headquarters and you actually buy what Colonel Sanders wore?
[laughs] You might as well buy the whole suit. I mean, come on now. Here's Papa Roach, See You in Hell. The internet has done it again. People have put together a list of the 43 whitest things ever said.
It's exactly as ridiculous as you'd expect. The list includes things like, "Oh, sorry," which is something I say quite a lot.
Uh, bringing a veggie tray to a party, owning multiple Stanley Cups. Saying, "Let's circle back." Putting raisins in potato salad.
Clapping when the plane lands. But I thought... Oh, 40- 43 whitest things ever, not ever said. Okay, that makes sense.
The internet has been arguing over this list ever since. Some of these are way too accurate. Like, who actually started applauding when airplanes land?
The, uh, the, the pilot isn't coming back for an encore.
I love how also every family has at least one person who says, "You know, we should probably get going," then stands in the driveway talking for another 45 minutes.
The, "Oh, sorry." I've definitely apologized to a shopping cart before. Not even a person pushing it, just a shopping cart. "Oh, sorry."
The internet is undefeated when it comes to making lists because no matter what's on them, everybody immediately goes, "Well, that's not me," while doing three things from this list. I can see obviously three examples that I say or I do from this list. Okay, I think I saw a video of some grown woman, potentially in her 30s, going to a store to get herself one of these, these, uh, these toys that are made for little kids. They're, they're called NeeDoh. N-E-E-D-O-H.
They kinda look like just colorful cubes.
Uh, the kids have been obs- obsessed with them apparently. Uh, doctors are now warning parents not to let kids microwave, heat, or even leave them in extremely hot places. You know how it's gonna be, like, 100 and something plus degrees this weekend? Yeah, if you have one of those NeeDoh cubes, be careful. There's a viral trend online where kids are heating the toys to make them extra squishy. 'Cause I guess they weren't squishy enough already. The problem is
They, they get inside and, oh no, the, the, the gel inside, excuse me, the gel inside can become superheated and the toy can burst, causing severe burns. Doctors say they've treated, uh, children with second and third degree burns. Some even-- Some have even needed skin grafts.
The manufacturer has warnings in the packaging telling people not to heat, freeze, or microwave the toys. Yeah, stick to a gel pack. You know, even when I like... I have this ice pack that's supposed to wrap around one of my calves, 'cause my right calf, every single time I go walking, I, I, I try my best to ice it afterwards to make sure I recover okay. I'm, I'm icing myself after walking a, a good distance. That's how unathletic I am.
But, uh, I will sometimes put it in the microwave and heat it up, and I watch the gel expand, and if I put it in the microwave for too long and then wrap it around my leg, it feels like I'm just boiling my calf.
Be, be careful, all right? [laughs] Just overall be careful if you have one of these Neato cubes. [laughs] These things actually seem pretty cool, not gonna lie. Here's in this moment, sleeping with the enemy on K-Bear one-oh-one. K-Bear one-oh-one, I saw this question get posted. Why not talk about it? What's the most overrated video game you have ever played?
I, I-- my, my answer has to be Halo 3. I mean, I played it. Campaign's fun and all if you're playing with friends. And then the multiplayer, I mean, I still don't really
get it. I hate to be one of those people that's like, "I don't understand the hype," but it's true, though. Halo 3, not my favorite. Most overrated game I've played.
Any Call of Duty after the original Modern Warfare 3. There's somebody going, "Anything after, anything by this, uh, anything from this title or anything from this company."
Hogwarts Legacy felt so empty. Oh, interesting. I had so many people who don't play many single-player games tell me it's the greatest game ever made, and it just hurt my soul. There were-- There, there are now people out there going, "Red Dead Redemption 2 is the most overrated game I've ever played. It's so boring." It is one of the most beautiful stories of all time.
Another person here, obvious answer feels like Call of Duty may have been good once, but the amount of hype for each new one and how many people seem to love it boggles my mind. You don't really see that many people out there saying they love Call of Duty anymore. I remember a time back in middle school when I would hop on the Xbox 360. I would look at my friends list, and every single person would either be playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, the first Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, or Halo 3. That was it. That was it.
Unfortunately, video games now, I mean, there's not too many big titles being put out there anymore. Everybody's waiting for GTA VI to come out, and I won't be even-- I won't be even able to play it. So there's that, because it won't come out on PC till like, what, twenty twenty-eight? Maybe twenty-thirty. Here's bad omens. Dying to love. I never thought I would say this sentence on the radio, but the internet has fallen in love with a juggalo fox. A wildlife rescu-- uh, rescue in Michigan has a baby fox named Romeo Too Dope because the markings on his face look just like the black and white face paint from the Insane Clown Posse. The resemblance got so much attention that ICP's Shaggy 2 Dope actually showed up to meet the little guy.
I, I love the fact there's this fox out there [laughs] that looks like Shaggy 2 Dope named Romeo Too Dope. What juggalo at the zoo named it that? Romeo Too Dope, or Too Dope. [laughs] And of course, it goes viral. The real Shaggy 2 Dope shows up. Did he show up in the face paint? He had to, right? The fox sees Shaggy and goes, "There's my dad." Starts freaking out.
What if the fox bit him or something? Did he give the bo-- Did he give the, the, the, the fox Faygo?

Here we go with today's What the Headline. Not that crazy of a story. I mean, it's just a bear in a hotel. That's it. This hotel in Tibet had a brown bear just wander into the building, walk down the hallway, forced, forced its way into an occupied guest room. The two people inside suddenly found themselves face to face with a bear. Thankfully, the bear eventually walked out, walked back, walked back out on its own. Nobody was hurt. The hotel has since repaired the damaged door and is adding more security to keep bears from checking in. I mean, what are you gonna do? Are you gonna have a gun? You gonna have some bear spray?
Uh, wh- what are you gonna do in that situation? I mean, like, what? Like, more security? What, are you gonna have a machine gun outside posted up like an auto-turret just shoots the bear to death? Wouldn't the hotel guests love to hear that? "Oh, not a bear again." [laughs] Just the person behind the desk running after it with a gun. I mean, who knows?
