[rock music]

All righty. We have made it to Friday, August 21st, 2026. Not to rub it in your face or anything, but I'm counting down the days till, well, next week. A wee- a week from today, I get to just go home and be away from here for a whole other week. Plus, I'm also, I'm also coming back, like, the day before Labor Day weekend, so after I get back from having a week off, I'll have 3 days off. I'll be off for 10 days. Yeah, mega vacation. Oh, good for you, Peaches.

W- uh, yesterday, yesterday afternoon, it, it, it got pretty funny around here.

We, uh... I, I sent out an email to everybody in the office asking who is ready to participate in this year's Fantasy Football League, the Riverbend Fantasy Football League making its return.

And, well, we had a few dropouts. I was quite disappointed in Josh and Chantel, 'cause Josh seems like the type of dude

that goes, you know, "Happy wife, happy life."

And Chantel grounded him from playing fantasy football. Apparently, he takes it that seriously.

You would think he would go, "I'm the man of this house." No, I'm kidding, I'm kidding. No, apparently he was so bad

that, uh, yeah, she said, "No more." Uh, she's, she... He's grounded for at least one season.

"No football for you one year." You know, like that, uh, soup character from "Seinfeld."

Uh, Jacob was giving him grief. Chantel and Josh were going back and forth with, like, with Jacob in the email thread yesterday afternoon. I'm sitting here doing the, the Z 103 afternoon show, and all of a sudden I hear boop, boop, boop. Like, all my emails just going off.

Kennedy, our front desk girl, is gonna be playing this year. Maddie, of course, she's returning. Same with Star. Jeff, aka FJ, said some... He, he sent in some ChatGPT-generated, like,

grounds for withdrawal email.

But, uh, we also lost our big boss man, Kevin, who's not playing this year. But, but we do have a few new players, so I'm looking forward to that. Fantasy football making its return to the office. I know we got the, uh, the trophy on Jacob's desk, last year's champion. I should have, uh, beat him, but my team just sucked. I was in the championship game against him. My team was doing great all season long, and then they just choked in the playoffs, just like the LA Dodgers.

His team took off towards the, uh, 2nd end of the season. It's weird how fantasy football works, 'cause, like, you can be one of those people that goes, "I have no idea what's going on," and then you just somehow end up in first place, winning the entire league. And that one guy, like Josh, who brings in, like, the papers for the draft, brings in personalized highlighted notes.

Go... Uh, what place was he in? I know he was pretty far down there.

He... Apparently, he was getting so mad, like, every Sunday. I wish that was recorded. I wish there were videos of him just staring at the TV intensely, like his life savings were on the line. Anyway, if you wanna get ahold of me, you can. 208-535-1015. It's Peaches Pip Party right here on KVERA 101. Just the other day, we were talking about, uh, this, uh, army unit... Uh, army unit, really? Army unit that was offering a four-day pass to play "Grand Theft Auto 6" when it comes out, um, if they reenlisted, if they reenlisted. "GTA 6" set to be released November 19th. And sure enough, the army unit has revealed 20 soldiers have reenlisted just because of this special four-day [chuckling] "GTA 6" pass. I have a good feeling that November 19th is going to be the most, uh, called-out day in history. So many people around the world are gonna call out of work. They're gonna crash the game. I can... I guarantee the game's gonna crash day one. People are gonna call off of work to have the day off to play the game, and they just can't. They'll be bogged down by updates or whatever. I... That, that, that is my Peaches prediction.

You know, p- so many people are gonna be disappointed. They're gonna go on Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, "I took the day off and I can't even play the game. Screw you, Rockstar." And the... A whole bunch of nonsense. I think with the, uh, the, the Rockstar leaks that have been happening, I haven't seen any second of it because I really just don't care because, well, I won't be able to play "GTA 6" 'cause I have a PC. So apparently, the... some people were so upset by the leaks that they just, uh, discontinued, or they... not discontinued. They, uh, they end... they, they, uh... What's, what's the word I'm looking for? They canceled. They canceled their, uh, their pre-order, which I can't believe. I, I, I can't imagine doing something like that. They were, they were gonna... They were... They pre-ordered the ultimate edition of "GTA 6." They just said, "Nope, not doing it anymore," and then moved on from there. [whoosh sound] Okay, well, this one makes me feel a little worse about buying, uh, plane tickets. Delta says AI

could, uh, help the airline make a lot more money by making more decisions automatically, including pricing.

And the really interesting part is that instead of having a handful of standard prices for a flight, the goal is to have the computer decide what price makes sense for the person shopping for that ticket at the exact moment.

Meaning if you're a lower-income individual like myself, maybe they'll give you a deal. Who knows?

Delta has been testing that kind of offer management already. [rock music] Isn't that just, like, d- dynamic pricing?

So you and I could be looking at the exact same flight, sitting next to each other. Delta's computer can go, "You, 280. Him, 460." [laughs] Now, personalized pricing can also work the other way. The idea is that if the computer figures out you won't pay 500 dollars but might pay 275, it can show you the cheaper price.

[rock music] So you're telling me I could sit there refreshing the page going, "Nope, nope, nope. Oh, there we go. Now, now there's a deal." Delta's CEO is talking about using AI to cut costs, automate a bunch of work, potentially move the company's profit margin from around 10 to 15%. They'll do anything

but make the seats bigger, you know?

I, I didn't even choose my seat for my upcoming flight. I was like, "You know what? I'll just do my classic tactic where I'll sit down, the person next to me who's supposed to be seated next to me is gonna be all upset that they have this giant dude sitting next to them." They're gonna talk to the flight attendant, and then the flight attendant will be forced to do that thing where they go, "Oh, excuse me, sir. We have this open row in the very far back that, that you could have all to yourself." And then I'll go, "Okay," and then walk to the back of the plane and, sure enough, have more room back there. [swoosh] Yeah, so I saw this story, uh, yesterday afternoon. I sent it to Jade, Josh, and Victor. I found out a teacher in Houston has a fart corner in her classroom. She made an actual little corner of the room for students who need to fart. There's a sign on the wall that literally says just, "Fart corner." Her rule, pretty simple. You walk over there, do your business, give yourself about 10 seconds, spray some air freshener, go back to your seat. Uh, the whole video gone insanely viral. Her video has racked up more than 28 1000000 views. Kids are gonna fart, you know? It's not exactly something you can stop. You know, people act so offended when farts happen. They go, "Oh, how dare you?"

Uh, uh, you're supposed to. There are so many articles out there saying, "Hey, if you hold them in, you could practically die." You know, you can get sent to the hospital. Wasn't there a story about how some girl, like, didn't fart in front of her 1st date and she ended up having to go to the hospital? No, let it rip. You know, be healthy. Take care of yourself. Just fart whenever. Here's Dead Poet Society, Cold. [swoosh] In another sign that no one seems to know how long you get to play college football anymore, a group of 3 former Ole Miss starters that signed to NFL teams are among a group of 30 athletes who were granted a temporary restraining order to return to college for one more season. Those players have expressed an interest in being released from their NFL contracts, and if their NFL teams release them by September 1st, they will be allowed to join a college roster.

Wow. More in college football news here. The people that run the Heisman Trophy voting are taking a page out of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame playbook. Many years ago, the Rock Hall started letting fans vote on their nominees, and the top 5 vote-getters were submitted as one ballot among the 100 submitted each year. Starting September 9th,

fans will be able to vote every day through the new Heisman Hopefuls platform for whatever player they think is the top performer in college football. The result will be unveiled on ESPN during Conference Championship Weekend, and the top 3 players will be placed in an, on an official fan ballot that will be submitted alongside the other 932 voters. And last but not least here in, uh, basketball news, some oh, good for you news. James Harden, famous for the massive beard, his terrible performances in the playoffs. Imagine that being your legacy, how you sucked in the playoffs. And also his strip club exploits. Can't forget those. Well, he'll be, he'll be returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers on a three-year, 97 $1000000 deal, which will make him just the 8th player in NBA history to top 500 $1000000 in lifetime earnings. The other players to reach that figure include, uh, not so big names like LeBron James,

Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, Devin Booker, Paul George, Donovan Mitchell, Joel Embiid.

Wow. And he's not that good either. I mean, he, he was good at one point, but now he's, like, nearing 40 and, like I said, he's terrible in the playoffs and all that stuff. And good luck in Cleveland, I guess, James. That is your Shot Clock Sports Update right here on KBAR 101. [swoosh] Call me old-fashioned, but I like my $20, uh, wired Apple headphones. You plug them into your phone, they play music, that's it, you know? I was reading here about Apple is reportedly working on AirPods with cameras built into them, and I was thinking, "Why? So they can see into your ear?"

I've never owned AirPods at all because I just... I, I think I would lose them. Uh, back when AirPods 1st started, I was running every single day, and I didn't want sweat to build up in these very expensive AirPods and break them. Instead, I would just buy the $20 wired Apple headphones, and if they stop- stopped working because of the sweat buildup or whatever, then I would just easily buy a new pair, and that was about it. The idea, though, for these, these new Apple, uh, AirPods with cameras built into them is that the cameras can look at whatever you're looking at and feed that information into Apple's AI. Oh.

Uh-oh. So Siri can tell you what you're seeing. Apple is apparently testing this right now, and there's even promotional footage found inside its software.

I really don't need my headphones looking around for me. I just wanna put on a song. I don't need my AirPods going, "Hey, what's that over there?" You know?

Maybe they're doing this for people who are, who are blind, maybe, and you can have the voice tell you exactly what's coming up. "A car is headed in your direction. Jump to the right. Jump to the right." [chuckles] Here's, here's Slow Thrust or Slothrust. I don't know how you say this band's name. Ring the bell. It's Peaches Pit Party on KBAR 101. [swoosh] Idaho's only rock station, KBAR 101. I feel a little bit better about this now. Um, I've been getting rid of a bunch of furniture in my apartment. Everyone knows that. [rock music] Why did I sound like Trump right there? Everyone knows that. [laughs] I mean, I've talked about it. We have talked about it on the air for quite some time, ever since, like, May. I've been getting rid of a bunch of furniture in my apartment while I've been redoing the place, getting some new things, putting,

uh, more so, I don't know, stuff that is tied together with the previous stuff that I didn't get rid of, if that makes sense. Every time I get rid of something, though, I've had for years, I'm weirdly like, "Man..."[rock music] I'm gonna miss you.

It's furniture.

Maybe it, maybe it should have some sentimental value, but it shouldn't be this bad. But

I'm glad I'm not the only person who does this. Uh, there's a guy, a senator by the name of Chuck Grassley.

He recently had to say goodbye to his vacuum cleaner. Her name is Beth. Oh, he named her... He named it Beth, just like that great Kiss song, you know? She's been in the family for nearly 50 years, and when electrical damage finally made the vacuum unsafe to use, he actually posted a little eulogy for it. He called Beth a real workhorse and said, "I will miss you."

And he's, uh... So I, I didn't realize it was for that long. I've been getting rid of stuff I've only had for, like, a few months or... You know, I actually, I got rid of a few things that I've had ever since I 1st moved out here, and I went, "That thing has been with me since the very beginning, since I started living on my own." I got rid of this, uh, particular floor lamp in my living room,

and I think I told the person who bought it from me on Facebook Marketplace, I was like, "Take care of this, will you? 'Cause I'll miss it. It's been with me since the start." [whoosh] This could qualify for freak news, which, by the way, you can hear every single weekday morning at around, what, 7:50 on "The Victor Wilt Show." England just crowned its newest world champions in toe wrestling. I think we've talked about this before. The 2026 World Toe Wrestling Championship was held in Derbyshire,

Derbyshire, where 2 people sit down, lock their big toes together, and basically try to pin each other's, uh, foot to the side of a board. This year's, uh, men's champion is Casey Brooks, who goes by The Big Toe. Imagine that as your big, as your, uh, your nickname, The Big Toe.

The women's champion is, uh, Abigail Beech, known as A Big Nail. [laughs] They each won 4,000 pounds. There's no way people take this seriously, but they absolutely do. There's a whole federation, world rankings, championships, prize money. These people train for this. What is the training session like?

There was even a guy named Allen Nasty Nash who won 16 world titles, and I feel like he was nicknamed that because he has this horrible foot fungus that works in his, in, [chuckles] in his advantage. You know, he just takes them all down. Allen Nasty Nash, 16 world titles. Does he have those proudly dis- displayed in his living room? People come over and they just don't know that he has a whole second life as a toe wrestler? [whoosh] [continuous rock music] Peaches Pit Party on KBAR 101. You know, this is actually something I would absolutely do if there was money in it. There's a streamer who's letting people watch his livestream, uh, shoot him with thousands of gel pellets.

Viewers can apparently contribute money during the stream. The more they contribute, the more ammunition gets dumped on him.

You don't need an office, you don't need a desk, you don't even need to leave the house. You just stand there, let the internet shoot you with little bottles of water, collect the money.

Why, why not go live on the KBAR TikTok, and as I'm doing this show, live on the air, add that element to it? Have people pay extra money for them to shoot me live on the air with these little gel pellets. Could you imagine? We'd, we'd finally have enough money to pay for a better in-studio phone, better microphones, heck, even better chairs for us, because, you know, uh, Classy 97, they get the new chairs. We, we get absolutely nothing. [whoosh] So I saw this question pop up, "What is a skill that takes less than an hour to learn but makes you look like an ab- absolute genius to others?" Do these actually take less than an hour to learn? Clearly, they haven't seen me try to learn a new skill, I can tell you that.

Pick a lock.

You can get a cheap lock-picking kit on Amazon that comes with a transparent lock and some pick tools.

Is it really that easy just to pick somebody's lock?

Makes me feel, uh, safe in my own apartment. Some deranged listener decides to show up to my place. "Surprise, Peaches! Love you, love the show."

Back a trailer, especially at the boat ramp.

Open a beer bottle without a beer opener. What, you just do it with your teeth? What's...

What do you mean open a beer bottle without a beer opener?

Handyman work is easier than you think to replace a ceiling fan and fix a garbage disposal. Okay, I guess I need to learn all of these. Oh, the Cracker Barrel triangle pegboard game.

You'll just see me next time at the Cracker Barrel with a YouTube tutorial,

watching it intensely, trying to figure out how to dominate the Cracker Barrel triangle pegboard game or whatever. [whoosh] [continuous rock music] Peaches Pit Party on KBAR 101.

Rob Lowe, you know, the famous actor, has been on, he's been on a lot of things.

He's also doing those... What, what, what are they called? The Atkins health bars, these protein bars. Am, am I supposed to believe that Rob Lowe is eating these protein bars?

You know, am I really supposed to believe that Charlotte McKinney was eating those Carl's Jr. burgers? Remember when she was in those commercials and they, they had the fake burger with the bite already taken out of it? Because, you know, a supermodel of that caliber is not eating a Carl's Jr. burger, all right? More so fat people like me are doing so, or at least I was. Now I'm trying to live the Rob Lowe lifestyle.

Well, he, uh, Rob Lowe says he got bullied when he was younger because he was pretty. Yeah, it's a rough one to hear.

Imagine being a kid, getting picked on. "Hey, this dude's pretty. Let's laugh at him." What if you're one of the dudes that bullied him

and, like, all this time later, you're like, [chuckles] you're like kicking yourself for not being his friend? Which is why you should be kind to everybody, okay? Everybody, if you're, uh, if you're in a high school, if you're in high school or you have a high schooler, tell them to be nice. Don't bully others, all right?

[rock music]Because you never know, [chuckles] they could grow up to be the next Rob Lowe. All right, I thought this was pretty funny. Uh, Consumer Reports, they tested 13 electric scooters. They don't recommend a single one. Not one. I think... What, what did the headline say? "We tested 13 electric scooters. We don't recommend any." [chuckles] They looked at things like braking, handling, range, battery charging, safety, and apparently none of the 13 scooters they tested were good enough to, for them to recommend. That's kind of impressive. You ever have that one classmate in high school, or maybe you were that person that just didn't try? I think I had a teammate at one point. Now, i- this was a rumor. I don't know if this is true or not. I had a basketball teammate in high school that supposedly had a 0.5 GPA. You have to try to be that stupid. K-Bear 101, you know, I would love to have a, uh, career like Jason Statham. [upbeat music] That guy has so many just dumb action movies out there.

And I don't know if he's under a specific contract. You know how Frankie Valli keeps performing and he's 92, and he's not necessarily performing?

His mouth is barely moving, and you feel sorry for the guy

'cause you're like, "Why on earth are you still trying to put on shows?" Like, do you owe a massive debt to the mob or whatever? You know, Jason Statham is coming out with this movie, uh, called "Mutiny." Oh, it came out today. He had also the movie "Shelter" come out this year. He had "A Working Man" last year. The... I, I did see "The Beekeeper." I thought it was a pretty good movie. Now he has "The Beekeeper 2" coming in 2027. Uh, d- does he wanna keep fighting until... How old is Jason Statham? That's, that's, that's the 1st question, because I'm, I'm sure he's in his late 40s, early 50s. Jason Sta... Oh my gosh, he's actually 59 years old.

How many movies does he have? I'm scrolling through all of them here. I mean, of course, I, I loved "The Expendables." Thought that was great.

Is... [chuckles] People also ask, "Is Jason Statham tough in real life?" And the AI overview says, "Yes, Jason Statham is genuinely tough and athletic in real life. Though he is not an invincible movie character, he has legitimate background in elite sports and martial arts and performs most of his dangerous, his own dangerous stunts." He spent 12 years on Britain's national diving team. Did he talk the way he does on the diving team? I'm not gonna attempt it, but y- I bet you could imagine that. Here's a perfect circle with Starless on K-Bear 101. I wanna be like this guy. This guy just accomplished something I think that, that would be pretty dang cool. A, a rideshare driver in Florida weighed about 370 pounds a few years ago. He was having back problems, took some time away from driving. He had surgery, completely changed how he was eating and living, and over the next 2 years, he lost almost 200 pounds. He's got to the point where he was ready to go back to driving, so he tried to reactivate his account. Everything went through except the picture.

The company didn't recognize him. He kept telling... He kept saying, "Yeah, it's me. I can prove it."

They still denied the appeal, eventually shut down his account. It took a TV station getting involved before another team at the company looked at it and went, "Oh, wait.

That's actually him."

He's back driving now. But I really like what he said about the whole thing. He wasn't doing this because he wanted to look like a completely different person. He said he wanted to be, uh, mobile. He wanted to be active.

And then he lost so much weight that his own job didn't even recognize him. That's one crazy transformation. I'm hoping, I'm so hoping this Sunday I can finally see the number that I've been wanting to see, 348 on the scale, and then we'll see, uh,

w- where next to, uh, where next after that. I'm hoping that eventually I can get below 300. I'm hoping for that. Peaches Pit Party on K-Bear 101. Toyota has apparently, uh, come up with a new way to check whether your engine is going to explode. [upbeat music] They hit it with a tiny plastic hammer.

I'm serious. There's a recall involving some Toyota and Lexus V6 engines, and instead of tearing the whole engine apart to inspect it, technicians attach a little sensor and smack the crank pulley with this specialty-made plastic hammer, and they're listening to the vibration. The engine components have specific resonant frequencies, and Toyota can use that vibration to figure out whether a, uh, main bearing has, has abnormal wear. So it's actually a legitimate diagnostic method. Where is the, uh... Oh, I think... Were they telling people?

With the strike of a hammer? Oh, so I thought they were telling people to hit it with the hammer. That's what the headline says, "Hit it with a hammer: Toyota's actual official procedure for diagnosing recalled V6 engines." No, they're not telling the consumers to do so. They're just doing so, and they'll hear that, okay, that makes sense. That ma- that's a whole lot better than just some random person going out there with a hammer, hitting their car engine, going, "Uh, uh, is it, is it bad? Is it bad?" There's actually a name for a lot of people do when they're looking for a job now. It's called doom jobbing. It's basically sitting there, scrolling through job listings, applying to everything you see, sending out a million applications and getting nowhere, which is what I did back in 2020 before I got the job here. A, uh, career expert from LinkedIn says that can actually make the whole process worse because you start getting burned out and discourage, uh, discouraged. Her advice is to stop trying to apply for everything. Get more specific. Figure out what kind of job you actually want, make sure your resume shows the skills that matter for it, and spend some time talking to people in the industry instead of, uh, firing off applications all day. And if you're looking for a full-time job where you can work outdoors, learn a trade, have a three-day weekend, you gotta check out the newly redesigned hireeastidaho.com. Hire East Idaho, connecting people with opportunity. Yeah, Florida man story for today is what the headline right here on KBARRO 101. A Florida man got into an argument with his neighbor over dog poop. Somehow it ended up with dog poop being thrown at somebody. Uh, police say Trey Decledott, Declodott, I don't know how you say this last name, he went to his neighbor's home after complaining that the dogs kept doing their business in his yard.

He says he had already taken, uh, he already talked to the neighbor's girlfriend about it, and she said she would clean it up. 4 hours later, it was still there. According to police, Trey Decledott ended up going into the neighbor's home, throwing, uh, feces at him, the dog poo at him, punching him, and then grabbing a child's scooter and threatening to use it as a weapon.

The neighbor had a red mark on his forehead [laughs] and police found dog poop outside the house. So this whole thing started with, "Hey, pick up after your dog," somehow ended up with a bag of poop and a scooter being used as weapons. And, well, that's today's what the headline, typical Florida man right here on KBARRO 101. I think this would actually hurt my feelings. Apparently some, uh, Gen Z friendships have entered the nickel-and-diming era. We're not talking about splitting a 200 dollars dinner. We're talking about somebody sending you a Venmo request for like 47 cents because you shared their fries, or somebody keeping track of who had 3 slices of pizza and who had 4. I saw somebody describe getting a payment request from a friend after dinner and thinking, "Really? You could- you couldn't just let that one go?" And that's the weird part. It's not really about the money, it's the fact that your friend apparently sat there doing the math. "You had 2 chicken wings, half a Coke, 3 bites of my cheesecake. Uh, mm-hmm. Put that all together, uh, 3 dollars 55 cents. Send the Venmo request."

It's like, I don't know, if we're friends, I'll get dinner sometimes, you get it the next time. Uh, j- just don't send me a, a Venmo request for 38 cents, all right? That's when I stop being friends with you. Them lazy kids. There are apparently a lot of young adults who are just not leaving the house. Get out the house and get a job, you loser. A new report says nearly one in 10 people in their 20s can go through an entire day without having a single face-to-face interaction with another person. Not texting somebody, not FaceTiming, no commenting on TikTok, actually seeing another human being, you know? I mean,

I, I, I try my best to hide myself from the, uh, the public eye during this weight loss transformation, uh, era that I'm going through, this, this transformation overall that I'm going through, trying to lose all this weight to go out, like, at 10:30 at night, walk around the Greenbelt like we talked about on the noon hour of Madness and Mayhem.

I would say the biggest threat around downtown Idaho Falls is just seeing this giant dude wearing a black hoodie, listening to sad songs. You know, it's not a dangerous area that we're in,

but I'm intentionally doing that to myself. I can't imagine just like... Well, I mean, here's the thing, too. I'm in this tiny room all the time talking into a microphone,

and I don't know what other people are saying. I- I'm just by myself in this little, little, little chamber talking into a mic, hope- hoping people are listening to me.
