Ep. 424 - You Can Get Paid to Stand in Line for People - 08/25/2026

[upbeat music] Well, it's Tuesday, August 25th, 2026. I can't believe yesterday I didn't mention the fact, besides it being Kobe Bryant Day, it was also, uh, National Peach Pie Day. [upbeat music] You would think that considering August is National Peach Month, I would have those etched into my brain. I, I kn- I knew about them, and I've repeated them here on the show, but I just completely forgot.

National Peach Pie Day. I would think that one's probably the worst one out of all the, uh, out of all the peach holidays.

National Eat a Peach Day, I believe, was... Was that on the 22nd, or is that one coming up? There's too many to remember. National Eat a Peach Day.

[upbeat music] August 22nd, so I missed that one, too. I believe this Thursday,

just straight up National Peach Day, and that is the last day before I leave for California and all of that. So, you best believe my pick of the day on Thursday is going to be Master Peach from "Buried Alive" to celebrate the holiday accordingly. It's Peaches Pit Party, of course, right here on KBARRO 101. If you wanna get ahold of me, you can, 208-535-1015. You wouldn't believe it, but I sold some more, uh, things on Facebook Marketplace.

[upbeat music] And I was also checking out the deals on Facebook Marketplace, checking to see if there was anything worth, uh, looking at, get- getting my hands on, you know? I did see a vacuum for 20 bucks, and you know I don't necessarily have a vacuum. I have to borrow my friends' all the time, which reminds me, I do need to text them, asking them if I could borrow it once more because my 2nd bedroom has a bunch of crumbs all over the floor. It's disgusting. [upbeat music] You ever ask if, uh, something is available on Facebook Marketplace, and then they either ignore you or they say they're in talks with someone, and then they sell it to somebody else, and it feels like you got cheated on? [dramatic music] You start cussing them out. You're tempted to send the middle finger emoji, like, "Take that. Next time,

remember my name. You know, sell to me, me only." [upbeat music] Yeah, I can't believe it. I saw a vacuum for 20 bucks. I was like, "You know what? I'll get it. Fine."

Sure enough,

"I'm in talks with somebody."

Next thing I know, sold. Well, if I see a vacuum on sale, I'll keep my eyes open on Facebook Marketplace, or I might just keep borrowing my friends'. Well, it'll save me some dough that way. [upbeat music] Well, back when I was a teenager,

we didn't have stuff like this. I don't think we did.

I just think we had Axe body spray. The,

the fancy one was Dark Temptation. That was the one that you were like, "All right.

Those commercials are about to be true." You know, 16-year-old, uh, Peaches

was like, "You know what? Let me put on..." I don't think I wore Axe body spray actually when I was 16. I think that was more when I was 13. I think I grew up. When I was 16, I was like, "You know what? I'll put on a nice, uh, cologne maybe."

Uh, uh, by nice cologne, I mean

something, uh, that's like 25 bucks from Ross, you know, locked up in one of those plastic containers. [upbeat music] I had this ongoing joke with my friend Bobby at the time that I would, uh, give him,

uh, a car-scented cologne from Ross. It was... [chuckles] There was, like, Ford, Toyota, Mustang even.

[chuckles] I was just reading here about how, uh, Duke Cannon, you know the brand, the cosmetics brand? They've unveiled a new Mountain Dew-scented soap and body wash. And we already talked about the, the Pepsi body wash and sugar scrub. I talked about the sugar scrub, right? It was like this brown goop that had a bunch of little, like, pebblets almost. [upbeat music] And I think I've seen Duke Cannon do some even weirder collaborations, like they had, uh, Hot Cheetos for a while. You know some guy who's never grown up or hasn't grown up since high school is putting that on, going, "Yeah, I'm gonna smell nice. About to smell like my favorite soda, Mountain Dew."

I, I might test it out. I might walk... I might, I might walk by the display, like at Fred Meyer, and you know how they have that little hole in the front of the package where you can... where it says, "Try me." And I, I, I'll, I'll, I'll put it up to my nose, give it a big whiff, and then go, "Okay, that's pretty decent," and then I'll just put it back. [upbeat music] How many Dan Sullivans are there, especially in the wonderful state that is Nebraska? Not Nebraska. What the heck am I even talking about? Wonderful state that is Nebraska. Yuck.

Yuck, yuck, yuck. No, I meant to say Alaska.

[upbeat music] Dan Sullivan versus Dan Sullivan. We talked about that, uh, political race, right? Like, I, I don't get political on this show. Everyone knows that.

But i- it's pretty funny to have 2 guys going against each other with the exact same name. And at 1st, it wasn't going to happen because they, the... What was it? Like, they were con- they were worried that it was going to confuse people, like that, that, that... Because it's Dan Sullivan versus Dan Sullivan. You can just say you're voting for Dan Sullivan, and people will ask, will have to ask, "Which one?" [upbeat music] Well, now a 3rd Dan Sullivan has popped up. A former Anchorage mayor has weighed in on the competitive Senate race, endorsing Senator Dan S. Sullivan over former teacher Dan J. Sullivan.

Funny enough, one of my good friends who I've actually never met in person who lives in Phoenix, Arizona, he's an exterminator,

I talk to him all the time, his name, also Dan Sullivan. And just like how I got sent that Peaches song from the "Super Mario Bros." movie for the longest time, I'm sure he has been sent that article about the, th- this political race over and over and over again. And now there's an update, update to it with a 3rd Dan Sullivan. He needs to do something. He needs to say, "I'm Dan Sullivan. I'll be the 4th one, and I endorse Dan Sullivan." [upbeat music] So we talked about it previously, how, uh, LinkedIn added a "Seems Like AI Slop" button to try to, you know, get rid of all those AI slop posts that people have been making.

And Facebook honestly needs this option too. I know it's probably not gonna happen because Meta is just doing everything wrong as of late. [rock music] And I've seen tons of AI-generated flyers pop up.

Uh, there was one in particular that I've talked about with the Italian food rest- uh, it might have been a food truck. It was like something, something Italian food, and the I was missing. The, the flyer made no sense. The text was all tiny. It just, it was a, a horrible flyer. If you're gonna have a flyer made, either make it yourself with Canva, it's super easy to use one of their templates, or have somebody make it for you. All right? Well, LinkedIn,

they, they say that their "Seems Like AI Slop" feedback option has now been used more than one 1000000 times

since it launched on July 30th. The response points to strong user interest in limiting low-quality automated posts, though LinkedIn hasn't said whether the total, uh, volume of AI-generated content on the platform is actually falling. The tool lets members flag posts they believe were generated with AI or appear to be low-effort, automated content. Again, I highly recommend anybody out there that wants a good laugh or you wanna see how weird people are on LinkedIn, definitely check out the subreddit r/ r/LinkedInLunatics. That, that is by far one of the craziest, dumbest... You'll see all these alpha dudes, you know, talking about the grind or whatever. R- r/LinkedInLunatics. All right, here's Weezer, "We Might As Well Be Strangers," on KBARRO 101. [rock music] Yesterday, after the Shot Clock Sports Update, uh, ended, I had a listener call me at 208-535-1015 talking to me about how he's a Cleveland Browns fan and how he's, uh, hanging in there, and I wish him all the best. Well, the big story in the NFL over the weekend involved the Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson getting booed during a home game, and Watson firing back at fans, calling the booing disrespectful. Well, yesterday, Watson apologized for the comments, and in a stunning move,

the Cleveland Browns named Watson the starting quarterback, at least for the start of the season. [rock music] While it sounds ridiculous, there is some logic to it all, I guess, it says here. The, [chuckles] the first 2 games the Browns play are away, where Watson will probably not get booed. The last time the Cleveland Browns started a season 2 to, 2 and 0 was in 1993. Bill Clinton was president. The 2 biggest gaming systems were the original NES and Sega Genesis. Only 10 players in NFL history have made more money in salary than Deshaun Watson. [rock music] The owner of the San Francisco 49ers, Jed York, grew up in Youngstown, Ohio. While visiting his old stomping grounds over the weekend, he was busted in nearby East... Uh, how do you... Is it just East Palestine or is it Palestine?

For allegedly soliciting a, uh, let's just say an adult worker in a trailer park for 140 dollars. He was also charged with, uh, disorderly conduct. He pleaded no contest to the charges, was sentenced to 2 days in jail. We'll see how the NFL responds to one of their owners getting, uh, squirrely and getting a mugshot in an orange jumpsuit. I did see the, uh, the, the mugshot there at TMZ. It was quite funny. [rock music] The Miami Heat 1st coined the phrase the Big 3 when LeBron James, Chris Bosh joined Dwyane Wade back in 2010, and now the team has a much older Big 3 trying to bring them a championship. 36-year-old, 4-time NBA champion Klay Thompson has joined the Heat on a two-year deal that pairs him up with, well, 29-year-old, uh, Heat star Bam Adebayo and recent trade acquisition and former NBA champ, 31-year-old Giannis Antetokounmpo. They'll, they'll compete in the suddenly star-studded Eastern Conference against the seemingly ages- ageless LeBron James and the 76ers and the defending champion Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks. I don't like the fact they said, well, the very old Big 3, 36-year-old Klay Thompson and [chuckles] 29-year-old Bam Adebayo, 31-year-old Giannis. I'm in between 29 and 31. I'm right there with them, all right? Calm it down. That's your Shot Clock Sports Update right here on KBARRO 101. And also, uh, pray for Cleveland. They need a, they need a better football team. [rock music] I need somebody to explain to me what this donkey was so pissed about. A family in Arizona was driving down the road. Donkey suddenly ran toward their van, jumped onto it, injured 3 people inside the van. The thing apparently climbed right onto the vehicle, started attacking the windows and doors. I don't know what happened before this. Maybe somebody cut him off in traffic, but a donkey jumping onto your van is not something you're prepared for. You're driving along, looking in the passenger window. There's a donkey. He's pissed. 3 people ended up hurt. The donkey eventually ran off. Sounds like a good reason to call the Advocates Injury Attorneys, you know? I don't know if there's ev- if there's ever been a donkey run-in or if there has been a donkey, uh, run-in as of late here in the area, but if it somehow happens, you know who to call. Here's Papa Roach, [chuckles] See You in Hell. [rock music] Well, it's Peaches Pit Party right here on KBARRO 101. I can't believe I'm about to say this. Kanye West was supposed to play 2 shows in Russia in October. More than 100,000 tickets were reportedly sold. [rock music] I don't know if I would ever want to see Kanye West in concert. I know the visuals are insane, but the music absolutely, to me, just, well, sucks. The shows were supposed to happen at the Gazprom Arena in St. Petersburg, which holds about 70,000 people.

Then the arena came out and said, "Yeah, you know what? We're not, we're not hosting this."

They, they say they never even signed a rental agreement for the concerts, so the shows can't happen there, which is pretty weird because the arena itself announced the shows a week earlier. The promoter is now saying, "No, the concerts aren't canceled. We're still working on it."

[rock music] So you've got a sold-out Kanye West concert, 10s of thousands of people with tickets, and the building where you're supposed to play is basically saying, "We know... we don't know who told you that." Kind of frustrating, right?

And now there's speculation the venue pulled out after pressure from Moscow, although that's not officially confirmed. So I guess if you bought a ticket,

you might have a very expensive piece of paper. I mean, could you imagine keeping that ticket stub if, if they had physical tickets anymore? You get to see Kanye West in Russia. Maybe I would go to that show if it were to happen, if I had that kind of money where I would... I, I... But the thing is, is I wouldn't wanna fly to Russia out of all countries. Why?

Why would I wanna fly to Russia? [chuckles] I'll stay right here in the area, okay? Uh, if you wanna check out our concert calendar, it's always available to you, riverbendmediagroup.com/calendar. You can also find the shortcut to it via the KBear 101 app. [whoosh] The Pretty Reckless on KBear 101, Idaho's only rock station. Hold on a second, I gotta cough here. All right, there we go. I had to clear my throat. [upbeat music] Of course, that has to happen right as I hop on the air here. I was reading about this, uh, this question from AskReddit, "What's a job that sounds 100% fake but actually exists and pays surprisingly well?" And maybe I should take one of these up as a potential side hustle,

or maybe I should just... You know, in case radio does not work, I could maybe apply for one of these. The 1st one, "I sell rocks, like literal rocks, not drugs. Supported my family, raised, uh, 2 kids," is what it says here.

Are we talking about, like, those geodes?

You've seen those, uh, stores pop up in malls across the country, right? You're like, "How on earth do these stay in business?" But, like, every other business in every shopping mall goes out, you know? Selling geodes. And also, they're quite expensive. Like, the bigger they are, the, the crazier they are. They're... Of course, the...

There's, there's some out there for the price of a car. Who's buying that?

[upbeat music] What's a job that sounds 100% fake but actually exists and pays surprisingly well? Tree counter, just counting trees for the logging industry. How much does that... How much do those people make? Tree counter salary. [upbeat music] They make an average about 36,000 to 52,000 dollars per year, or roughly 17 to 25 dollars per hour.

There's tree cutter, there's tree climber.

There's... Yeah, I don't see tree counter.

Golf ball diver. I, I know those people get paid pretty well.

Scuba dive into golf course ponds, collect lost balls.

You can also, I think, do that on the side. Or you can just really do that on the side, really, if you wanted to get some extra money.

How does that work in the, uh, wintertime, though? Do they still have those people go out there and grab the, the golf balls even though, like, nobody's golfing in the winter? I mean, do, do, do people golf in the winter, as stupid as that sounds? I wouldn't know, 'cause I'm not a golfer myself. I'll stick to my mini golf at, like, Fat Cats or something. [upbeat music] What's a job that sounds 100% fake but actually exists and pays surprisingly well, is what we're talking about here. Professional line stander. That's right. There... You can pay someone to stand in line for you, or you could be that person to just do so. I mean, you're pay... getting paid money to just stand there and be on your phone. Huh, that sounds pretty, pretty decent. All right, that's enough of that. Let's talk... Let's play some, uh, A Perfect Circle, Starless. [whoosh] I knew for a fact that "Grand Theft Auto 6" at some point was gonna have a major leak [rock music] because it's the most sought-after game. It's the biggest game release ever.

And

they would have to keep this thing under the highest security possible, and even then, I feel like

somebody was bound to leak footage from the game, you know? There's a hacker group. Over the last week, in case you've been under a rock, the hacker group named CyberLeak has been creating chaos by dropping footage from "Grand Theft Auto 6." The footage that was leaked, uh, yesterday was extra fun because it shows one of the game's, uh, protagonists, uh, Jason,

exploring a nighttime nudist colony. That was in "GTA 5" as well. There was that weird, uh, town

that was all, uh, what was it? Secured, gated

in the, uh, country, and you could take... Uh, as Trevor, you could take victims to that nudist colony, and they would just take them. It's a crazy game, I know. There's full frontal exposure, both, you know, man bits, lady bits waving in the wind.

The game's publisher, Take-Two, is actively hunting the hacker, uh, down in court to stop future leaks. Now, what if it... What if, uh,

what if, like, it was actually the guy who plays Lester that was doing this? Could you imagine? Do you know how awesome that marketing campaign would be? They track it down. It was... The whole time, it was a marketing stunt,

and the guy who plays Lester, who looks exactly like Lester in-game, was just the one, quote, "releasing the footage."

The big "GTA 6" Netflix special airs this Thursday, the 27th, on National Peach Day,

which should be a bigger deal than the CyberLeak stuff. Do I have Netflix still? I might have access to it. I might have access to it through another account. So if I somehow do, I'll definitely be watching it. [whoosh] KBear 101, let's talk about this. Uh, words and phrases that make young people think you are old. I think any single time you see someone go like, "I'm gonna call the sheriff,"

they're old. Like, why, why can't they just say, "I'm gonna call the police"? They have to say the sheriff. Like, what is this, 1855? "I'm gonna call the sheriff."

"Are you videotaping me instead of recording?" You're old if you say that. Pound sign instead of hashtag, you're old. Let's just point out, if you're, if you're... If you say any of these, you're old. Clicker instead of remote, haven't heard that one, thankfully. [upbeat music]Give me the clicker.

Now we say clanker

as a, you know, term for... as a, as a slur for robots. [laughs] Cream rinse instead of conditioner. Who says cream rinse?

My grandparents died a long time ago.

Did they ever say cream rinse? No, I don't think so. I barely ever saw my grandparents.

Any single time someone is, like, real sad about their grandpa or grandma dying, I, I get kind of jealous because my grandparents were hardly ever around. And also, if we hung out with extended family, we always talked trash about them afterward.

We would always say something like, "Oh, great," you know, "They brought that up," you know, or they said something like this. "Ha ha, let's make fun of them."

Shrink instead of therapist.

Airbuds or EarPods instead of earbuds or AirPods. Again, we're talking about words, phrases that young people hear and go, "You're old." Pocketbook instead of purse.

Ice box instead of refrigerator.

Slacks. Who says slacks instead of pants?

I still think the one,

um, that immediately came to my mind, "I'm gonna call the sheriff." You see those Karen videos all the time. They're always in their mid-50s. The same type of people that are like, "I don't understand this, the, the hype with Sleep Token. I'm gonna call the sheriff." [chuckles] Here's Rivals, Bite the Bullet. K-Bear 101, it's Peaches Pit Party. What was I gonna talk about here? Oh, yeah. Yeah, I caused a big mess once again, surprise, surprise, in the Z103 studio. Luckily, I caught it before our, uh, our, uh, cleaning person saw it, and then there was gonna be an email talking about how, "Hey, gu- hey all, please do not do this in the studios."

You know it's bad whenever there's a, uh, email sent out to the entire staff, and it's because of something that you did specifically and they don't want the others to follow suit. I brought in this, uh, this plant from home because I had no place to put it at my place, shockingly enough, I know, because I haven't... I, I've sold a lot of stuff. I haven't bought a lot of things. And so I bought this 10 dollar pothos plant. I talked about this, I believe, on the show yesterday.

Bought this 10 dollar pothos plant, and I tried putting it on these different countertops in my apartment. There was no way that it was gonna get the sunlight that it needed. So I decided, you know what? I'll just bring it to work with me and put it in the studio, because Josh and Chantel from Classic 97, they have these, uh, pothos plants in their studio, and they've had those since they've, uh, started. And well, sure enough, that pothos plant is spread out across the entire counter. Mine is still relatively small. I have pothos envy, you know. So I di- I, I looked in their studio and went, "Wait, you guys have a, a plant that's hung up by the speaker." Like, there's a bar that c- that has the speaker on the wall, and the bar is perfect because it's right there in front of the window. So I immediately hung mine up. But once I picked it up, I realized I watered it yesterday, and I must have over-watered it because there was all this water on the counter. I went, "Oh, geez, what happened here?"

Cleaned it all up, got it all sorted out.

That way, again, I don't get that work-related email. Uh, yeah, please don't water plants on the counter then leave the water residue, the water puddle, the puddle itself on top of the counters in the studio. Please be cautious. This week it is go, go, go, unfortunately, so that means a lot of my, uh... A lo- a lot of the tasks that I want to get done are possibly not gonna happen until the week that I get back. But I will try my absolute best because, well, this week they've decided, "You know what? Peaches is about to leave on Friday for a week-long vacation. Let's just book all these meetings and

nonsense events that need to happen," quote, "need to happen."

Like, I have my counseling appointment on Wednesdays. There's a meeting before that, and then there's another meeting before that that I gotta go to. And I'm like, "Guys, I need to prepare for next week, get all the stuff done so I don't get yelled at while I'm on vacation." I look at my phone, I see another email. "Peaches, you forgot to do this. You forgot to do that." It's like, well, I tried having the time to do so. Just couldn't do it because all these useless meetings were there. I get yelled at for not doing other minute things around here. It's tough being a radio DJ sometimes. You get yelled at for the dumbest things possible. How can you look at somebody and yell at them for not posting on social media? [chuckles] That's my, my, my thing. It's like, I, I would understand if it was, like, me going absolutely nuts on the air, talking about things that I shouldn't be talking about. Like, that stuff is deserving to get yelled at. But if it's like, "Hey, you didn't post on social media on Monday. What's wrong with you? You didn't post y- uh, your face on video." Sorry, let me get my camera out and go, "Hey, what's up, YouTube? We out here."

Where was I going with this break anyway? I don't even know. I think I was gonna talk about how I, uh, interviewed the band 9th Key yesterday,

and I'm hoping that I can get that interview put up on our YouTube channel at K-Bear 101 RMG potentially today, hopefully today. So keep, keep your eyes out for that on YouTube, K-Bear 101 RMG. Victor had the chance to interview, uh, well, Showing Teeth. Uh, she goes by Showing Teeth, and that's up on our YouTube. I, uh, just recently had the chance to, uh, not only interview Mirza of Siamese, I also interviewed Eric Bickerstaff, the guitarist for Loathe. Again, that's all up on our YouTube, K-Bear 101 RMG. Even my, uh, interview with this guy, Bill Murray, Johnny Frank, is up on our YouTube channel. Here's Always Let You Down on K-Bear 101. Landscaping doesn't exactly sound like one of those jobs where you think, "Yeah, this could kill you." But ap- apparently, it's getting more dangerous. A new look at federal workplace data found that fatal injury rate for, uh, groundskeepers and landscapers has gone from about 13 deaths per 1,000 workers to 21. Per 100... I'm sorry, 13 deaths per 100,000 workers to 21 per 100,000 over the last decade. That's a pretty big jump.

The work can involve heavy equipment, power tools, traffic, extreme heat, some pretty dangerous conditions as well. I mean, we just talked about that story yesterday about the, uh, the tree trimmer that killed his coworker because they were doing shadow puppets with the, uh, the heavy... What was it? The, the grappler thing.

They, they were making shadow puppets with it, and while he squeezed his coworker's head to death.

So anyway, if you're looking for a job where you're actually doing something with your hands, but you're not looking to spend your day climbing trees or operating heavy, uh, landscaping equipment, you gotta check out hireeastidaho.com. [upbeat music] This week's Hire East Idaho Job of the Week is a part-time accounts receivable clerk with TEC Distributing of Idaho in Idaho Falls. It's 20 to 25 hours a week handling invoices, customer payments, account discrepancies. They're looking for someone with basic accounting experience who's organized, detail-oriented as well. Pay is 15 to 17 dollars an hour. You can apply at hireeastidaho.com, where you'll find hundreds of other jobs from employers across East Idaho. Hire East Idaho, connecting people with opportunity. [whoosh] Death Valley is one of those places where I genuinely don't understand why people go there, especially in August. [rock music] This 68-year-old man from France died there last week after the vehicle he was traveling in with a friend got stuck in mud on a remote road. They couldn't get another vehicle out there, so the 2 of them just started walking across these salt flats to find help, and it was 116 degrees out there. They made it about a mile and a third before the man could not keep going. His friend continued on, eventually got help from a passing driver, and a search team found the man later that afternoon. He was pronounced, uh, dead at the scene.

Death Valley, you died in Death Valley. It's not just, oh, it's really hot. You're talking about enormous stretches of land, little to no c- little or no cell service, emergency help that can be hours away. The National Park Service actually says that if your vehicle breaks down, staying with the vehicle is often the safest thing you can do because it's easier for search crews to find.

Death Valley, I, I remember The Undertaker. Every single time he would come out to the ring, they would say, "From Death Valley, California," because, well, he's The Undertaker. It fits his character. It's... Well, Death Valley is such a strange place. What is the temperature there today? Let's take a look at the forecast, huh? And go, wow, you know what? Maybe the Idaho heat isn't all that bad.

Yeah, the high today, 112. The low is 87. And there was a video that I saw on YouTube recently about this small little town in Death Valley where people just kind of stay in their trailers with the AC blasting all day. That sounds like the biggest nightmare possible. [whoosh] I don't understand this one at all. This, uh, this dad was hi- was hiking up Mount Fuji with his 2 sons, and his 7-year-old got tired around the, uh, around the 6th station. So the dad told him to wait there and kept climbing with the older son. He left the 7-year-old sitting there alone with some snacks and drink while he kept going up the mountain. And we're not talking about a park down the street. No, this is Mount Fuji. [rock music] The kid was more than 8,000 feet up. It was early in the morning. The weather was getting worse. The kid ended up sitting alone there for hours before a mountain hut worker found him and called police. The father eventually came back after police contacted him and told him to return. He apologized, called it a rash decision.

The 7-year-old is tired? Yeah, just wait there with them, you know? You don't get to summit and then come back for your kid. [chuckles] Wait here, son. I wanna do this like a man. [laughs] Mount Fuji. That's also, again, climbing a mountain,

one of the silliest, dumbest things you can do. Uh, in all honesty, really. I mean, well, who wants to climb Mount Everest?

What, what, what, what exactly is there to say? That the fact that you did it?

Okay, good for you. Like,

that just goes to show that you are awful at decision-making. Like, I would never go on a hike with somebody who has climbed Mount Everest, because I know they're gonna make the hike just that much worse. They're gonna wanna take the, quote, "shortcut," like my friend Matt. A hike to me, you walk the, you walk the trail where they tell you to walk, and you walk for about 2 miles. You see some awesome view, they come back, and that's it, right? There's no need to go on this all-day climbing adventure. Doesn't make you more of a man compared to me. I went backpacking the entire weekend and walked 50 miles straight.

Like, wh- why? Why would you do that? Especially those people that just do that for fun. Like, you know, you see, like, Outdoor Boys, for example, that iconic YouTube channel. That dad who just goes out into the wilderness and

just makes fires and, you know, shows you how to survive out there. But he has, like, this giant home with his family, everything. He has all that he needs. Why on, why in the world would you leave that house to just do that? Anyway, [chuckles] I guess it's to feel free, like this Beartooth song. [whoosh] All righty, we got a Florida man story once again for today's What the Headline right here on KBRO 101. [rock music] A Florida man made a big mistake by driving his lawnmower on a public road. He made an even bigger mistake by having loads of drugs on board. "Mow and behold," is what it says here.

Authorities in Dixie County, the deputies stopped this guy by the name of Roy Lee McDaniel in Old Town because the lawnmower did not meet, uh, legal roadway safety requirements. Uh, during the stop, the deputy reportedly smelled, uh, marijuana and conducted a search for, for, uh, a search of a bag sitting between the man's feet.

[rock music] Investigators, they sa- say they found marijuana, these certain pills, a hypodermic needle, drug paraphernalia, all the, all the good stuff, you know? Well, he's arrested.

Lo and behold, typical Florida man activity. You ever get stuck behind one of those, uh, construction workers driving a slow piece of machinery down the road? You find that quite annoying? I know I do. I hate the fact that driving around town now is like driver's ed, trying to go in and out of the cones and all of that. At one point, I was very tempted to weave in and out of the cones on one street. I think it was Holmes. Yeah, 'cause it, [chuckles] it's down to one lane. They're redoing the road, obviously, before summer ends and the road conditions get worse.

Anyway, yeah. Uh, be, be, uh, be courteous to the construction workers. They don't wanna be out there. You don't want them out there. You want the job, job done quite, quite quickly, you know? Maybe offer them a bottle of water that's sealed, you know? Go, "Hey, it's hot out. Stay hydrated." That's today's What the Headline right here on KBAR 101. [rock music] There has been a lot of weird things going on at concerts as of late. We've talked about, uh, people wearing diapers in the front row so they don't, uh, they don't leave and lose their spot. People are throwing things on stage at specific concerts. Well, now, From Ashes to New, they were playing a show in Minnesota. Somebody in the crowd started spraying them with a water gun, and not just once, too. Danny Case says they got hit 6 times, including directly in the face.

Finally, he spotted the guy, told him to stop. The guy did it again. That's when Danny lost his mind, started threatening him from the stage. And I think once you start doing that, you kinda make a fool of yourself. You start cussing somebody out, threatening, "I'm gonna break your teeth." You know? I'm not, I'm not saying you should be, you should be jumping off the stage and fighting somebody at a concert because, well, they could probably press charges if you assault them like that, but I do understand why he was angry. You're performing, you've got somebody shooting something directly into your face. You have no idea what is actually in that thing. That guy could have gone to the bathroom and gotten the toilet water, or even worse, you know? And you've already told them to stop. They keep going. Matt B made a pretty good point, too. He said he got hit directly in the eye, had no idea what was in that water gun. It could have been water, could have been something else. Once you've been told to stop, you stop. You paid for a concert ticket. You can't just spray somebody right in the face with a squirt gun. Did he get kicked out?

The video from The Danny Case is up on his Instagram if you wanted to check it out. And if you go to a concert, make sure not to bring a water gun. I don't know how they got in with that thing, but they did apparently. [rock music] You know how they're making biopics as of late for pretty much anybody famous? I mean, I think there was the Michael Jackson movie that blew up quite huge. I have not seen it 'cause I know it's a three-hour-long movie and it's not necessarily the right way the story should have been told or something like that. There was, uh, some, some criticism towards that film.

I have always wanted to see that, uh, Johnny Cash biopic with, uh, Joaquin Phoenix. I still need to watch, uh, the Ray Charles one with, uh, with Jamie Foxx. Great casting there. And I just saw... Metal for the Masses, this subreddit,

somebody posted, "Biggest diva in rock music," and it shows Eddie Van Halen as the first picture. Then it goes on to show Dave Mustaine. I don't know who that 3rd person is. That looks like, uh, Glenn Danzig at number 4, and then Billy Corgan at number 5. And I'm looking at this young photo of, of, of E- of Eddie Van Halen back in the day, and I gotta say, if they ever did a biopic about him, you know the guy that plays Georgie in, uh, Young Sheldon?

He has to play, that actor has to play Eddie Van Halen. He... Th- this picture, they look identical.

I also didn't realize how close together or how,

uh, how Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey look like brothers until they put out the movie poster for that movie, Brothers, starring the two of them, and they put their photos side by side and it almost looked like the same person, just one person there.

If anybody who does casting in Hollywood is tuned in right now via the KBAR 101 app or streaming at kbar.fm,

make whoever plays Georgie play Eddie Van Halen in an upcoming biopic, and I'll be sure to watch that film. [upbeat music] Thanks for listening to Peaches Pit Party, the podcast.
